How fast can you say the 4 times table?- to 100? Using the pattern shown with the "ones" digits only, some of us have managed to get it under 20 seconds- even faster!
We were looking at Polyhedron shapes (3-D shapes with straight edges and flat sides) today. We had a go making them with play dough and iceblock sticks.
We were counting up (V) Vertices (Corners), (E) Edges and (F) Faces. Back in 1750 Leonard Euler discovered this pattern. The pattern was V+F-2 = E. With a cube you have 8 vertices and 6 faces (8+6=14) and subtract 2 and you get the number of edges (12). That’s pretty cool!
