Sports Tournament with Cannons Creek School

We had an awesome time today over at Cannons Creek School in Porirua. 65 kids from our school went over for a Sports Tournament. The sports included Soccer, Netball, Rugby, and Unihoc. We bet them 5 games to 4. It was a great time - including being on the receiving end of a powhiri for once. That was really special and Cannons Creek School put on an awesome Powhiri!
A special thanks to Mr Murray for organising this and all the parents who helped with transporting us all!

Rippa Rugby Tournament

Today was Day 2 of the two-day Porirua Rugby Nations Tournament. It kicked off yesterday at Onepoto Park with Rippa Rugby teams from 19 Porirua primary schools and us! Each representing a Rugby World Cup 2011 team for their own shot at world cup glory.
A fantastic experience! The build up training showed great commitment from our specially selected 15 students. A bonus was meeting the Springboks and then getting to see them live in action at a RWC match in Wellington.
South Africa may be doing a little better than what we did, but still a great time had by all!
A special thanks to Mr Barnao and Mrs Mac:)

Writing - Taking it to the next level!

Check out how we me made a boring sentence far more interesting

Up, up, up. I am climbing a humongous hill.Even though it didnt look that high from below it now felt like having to conquor a mountain. It was ehausting. The sun was burning harshly on my sweaty back. I stumbled on, one foot after another. Up, up, up. Finally I drop to my knees at the top. What a beautiful view. By Jahde

One day a man climbed up a gigantic hill. It was sunny. He was sweating and felt like he was being touched by the sun. He stripped his shirt off. He was so hot. By Sean and Shaddi

We hiked up a tough rocky mountain. We could not wait to see the stunning views we imagined would be at the top. By Khanh and Natasha

I was climbing up a treacherous cliff face in the Himilayas. It was a very difficult task but I succeeded. The views were a life-changing experience. By Sam and Caleb.

I staggered up the steep, grassy slope. I was exhausted.

The hill climb was difficult. The rain was bucketing down. I was
saturated and was regretting taking the rediculous bet.
